 Enable/Disable Firewall
Choose this
to enable or disable firewall protection. You can also
click the "Enable/Disable" button on the right side
of the main window.
Connect/Disconnect
Choose this
to connect your computer to or disconnect it from the
network. This has the same effect as plugging/unplugging
your network connection. You can also click the "Connect/Disconnect"
button on the right side of the main window.
Switch Mode
Rising Personal
Firewall allows you to switch between different modes:
Shopping Mode, Silent Mode and Standard Mode. The modes
determine default firewall actions for programs not
specified in Application Rules. To customize each mode,
refer to Standard Settings and Application Rules.
Default actions for applications not specified in Application
Rules are as follows:
- Shopping
Mode: Deny network access without informing the
user.
- Silent
Mode: Deny network access without informing the
user.
- Standard
Mode: Ask user when applications attempt network
access.
You can also right-click the firewall icon
in the system tray to switch the mode.
View Log
View detailed
firewall logs. You can also click the "View Log" button
on the right side of the main window.
Trojan Scan
Select to
scan for Trojans.
SmartUpdate
This connects
to the Rising update server and downloads the latest
program updates. You can also click the "Update" button
on the right side of the main window. For more information
on SmartUpdate, refer to Update.
